Play Ball

2015 is an exciting year for American Legion Baseball, and especially the state of Wyoming. To start off on 17 July 2015 The American Legion program will celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the American Legion Baseball. The purpose of American Legion Baseball during these 90 years has been to give young men "an opportunity to develop their skills, personal fitness, leadership qualities, and to have fun." The program has succeeded by giving these boys the opportunity to find themselves, work well with others, get college scholarships, and even become professional baseball players.

This year Wyoming Baseball is privelaged to host the American Legion National Tournament in Cheyenne WY from 5 to 9 August. During this period we will see many outstanding players from around the country fight for a position. During the next six months our coaches and players will hone their skills to become one of the teams who perform well. I would invite everyone to plan on being in Cheyenne on 5 August 2015 to watch the opening ceremonies and remain until the end of play.

To start off this exciting year of I would like to welcome all American Legion Posts to another exciting year of Baseball. I would like to encourage all Wyoming Posts to support their local teams and all American Legion members to attend games during the 2015 Wyoming American legion baseball season. By supporting your (our) teams we help our coaches, players and become better sportsmen and better members of the community. Please come on out to the ball diamond and show your support and cheer your team on.

I am looking forward to seeing you at the Ball Field.
